Here's part of my little Fella series of action shots...
"Fella Spartan Throwing Spear"
This is what becomes of me with a little insomnia and boredom. I bent a coat hanger out of shape to provide a stand for Fella. Then a little scarf was used for his cape. I used a cardboard cake mix box to cut out his helmet, spear and shield. A button was used for his brooch, and a paper dinner cloth was used for his loin cloth. Everything that looks metallic was spray painted and dry brushed, allowed to dry, and voila! 2 sleepless nights, compliments of mah Fella Spartan!
I hope you enjoy my little testiment of madness. Have fun!

Madame Alexander!! Get out of town!! :excited: I have some Madame A dolls from when I was a kid. They're all still in the original boxes. They've never been displayed or played with. I've never run into anyone else with Madame A dolls. Mine are maybe 7" tall, and each one has a native costume from various contries. They're probably around 30 years old.

Yes, the plushies are super soft and way cute!!! I totally think you'd love it!

:w00t!: Oh hon, my Great Aunt had the first Madame Alexander Doll produced and started collecting and sending them to my sister for years when we were little. We took ours out of the boxes and displayed them behind a glass cabinet (not very good collector's ;P ). Sometime during my sister's move she said the dolls disappeared. But I still have mine. I have been to shows where our dolls, in their boxes have sold for upwards of $500-1000 especially in pristine condition as yours are. Now, though, I have no idea what is happening in the doll world with this recession coming, but as it is a collectors world who knows! :D :D :D You may just have a great retirement there. :D :D If you google Madame A you will be surprised, there is even a place you can go to see how rare your dolls are, a lot were sold back then, but few kept all the pieces and boxes... but beware, you may get phone calls from a lot of strangers looking for your particular doll, I just left my number at one place and had a dozen calls asking about my dolls

I am going to get at least two of those adorable cuddlers! :D :D :boogie: :D :D

I don't know that I'd ever sell them... They are kind of special/sentimental. :) But it's nice to know that I have something with value.

This is too cool. I wish i could sew. I have bought 3 of these little guys and I would love something like this to put on them. My kids love them.

There's wasn't any sewing involved really. :XD: The helmet, spear, and the shield are all made of cardboard and staples. Everything else consists of a rubber band, a red scarf, some twine string, a button, some scotch tape, a paper dinner cloth, a wire coat hanger that was bent into a stand to hold him up, and some black and gold spray paints. 'Twas a fun, little project. I'm planning for another costume now.

For the time being, however, this little Spartan is part of my contest; see my signature for a link to the contest details if you'd like to enter.
