DA: V6

Now that the journal mood issue has been resolved (Yay! I'm no longer "terrified!"), and since most of us have had time to test drive the new v6 design for dA, I'm curious to know what you think about it. I'm still troubled that I cannot upload zip files for stock packs. Is anyone else having this issue?

Nonetheless, I like the new look and the new message center layout. I think it will be cool once the bugs get worked out. Although, this makes me sad: Just when the bugs seem to start getting worked out at dA, the administrators make a new version of the site with totally new bugginess. I understand why the site gets a new makeover each year, but I voted in the community poll thingy with "I kind of wish you had bug tested it more." What was your vote? ...Or didn't you vote?

I really don't like v6. I don't like the look as much, and the new front page is annoying and not as easy for me to view during the day when I have time. Before, I could immediately see what was new, popular, or DD, and now it takes a little more work. I realize that the "work" is just scrolling around, but when one only has a few minutes to peruse the site between other tasks, it is nice to see everything at once and go from there. The message center is also a little obnoxious.

Ummmm...Like you I wish they had bug tested it more but after a week of giving it a "test drive" I'm really happy with the new features such as being able to see the new deviations at a glance with the thumbnails. They've resolved the problem of accessing the main gallery and being able to see a whole page of deviation rather than one on one (forward and back). So the bugs are being ironed out progressively as far as I can see

I'm fairly optimistic that they'll iron out the problem with the zip files upload if it follows the same general pattern

I honestly don't remember which option I chose. But I'm sure about something. I like the change. Although bugs are bugging a lot XD I believe the community has grown a lot this past two years so yeah, is ok ^^
I haven't heard anything about issues with submissions, audio, film or zips. Sorry I can't help

It. Sucks.

This revamp of DA is at least the third time I've seen DA changed just for change's sake. As always, older features we've gotten used to are taken away & the new version is full of bugs. I don't like the overall look, either. I'm seriously considering leaving DA for good now.

Also, in response to the comments & messages dis/reappearing at random: I hear that. But the message prob has been here for a while. Months before the revamp, I noticed the number of messages in my inbox kept changing no matter how many messages were actually there.

I voted "I'm not impressed" because... I honestly am unimpressed. It's kind of super buggy; I won't get notified about comments, I can't download zips, I can't access stats - old problem welcome back! - certain images will only load 50%... etc.
And it's not as logical as it could be. I hate to be the grumpy oldie and say "back in the days" but... it was, in this case

I don't currently like v6 mainly because of the fact that the supposed plans for subscribers should've been included at the beginning or at least thought about beforehand, whereas now they're trying to cover themselves by making suggestions now which is completely ineffective and wastes a few months of subscriber's money.

v6 freaks me out. I'd been away on vacation and when I got back it was all different! It took me a really long time to actually figure out the message centre, although that might just be me. I like some of the new features, but for the most part it's just confusing.
