I haven't been around FS much this past week because I've been preparing the launch of the new FREE AVATAR PROJECT. (YAY!) This is kind of an early preview. The project was created to help deviants find avatars to use at dA... for FREE! That's right! Free avatars for everyone! (Just please follow each iconist's terms of use, thanks!)

An old poll I created quickly told me that our avatars are most people's first impression of us at deviantART; avatars are like our faces! To keep this project going, we're always on the lookout for more talented iconists that make free general use avatars. If you're an iconist with 100% your own free icons (no copyright screen shots please!) and you'd like to be an active part of this project, please read and follow ~avatar-inc's rules on how to join and submit free avatars. Each time I update my journal I like to feature an artist that has used my stock in their art. This week's featured artist is...


I really enjoy *gurci's gallery, especially his manipulation of photos. His journal is full of exqisite art features, and his shared *CandG-stock account has a large selection of useful, gorgeous photos for your art. (Follow his rules please!) It's always very rewarding to me when another stocker uses one of my images to create their personal art. Even though he used only a tiny bit of my stock, this was a big treat for me.
